After a rather tough play, Polly Magoo Juniors's Jörgen Granström got a free kick in the 5th minute. After 7 minutes, Bertil Myr mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Polly Magoo Juniors and the Rätan IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th minute, Bertil Myr hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rätan IF's Kristoffer Snäll got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 10 minutes into the game, Sten Alkvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Polly Magoo Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rätan IF the free kick. A collision led to Polly Magoo Juniors getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Sten Alkvist hit a great ball. Vilgot Vassenius's late challenge caught a Rätan IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vilgot Vassenius helped the player get up and apologised. After 11 played minutes Polly Magoo Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Vilgot Vassenius. A hard shot by Axel Jonasson from long distance, 12 minutes into the match, got Fabien Lafont's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Sten Alkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Polly Magoo Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Sten Alkvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olov Stephansson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Olov Stephansson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivar Alin, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. If Kåre Sjögren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Kåre Sjögren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rätan IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Kåre Sjögren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabien Lafont breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Olov Stephansson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivar Alin went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 40 minutes into the match, Rätan IF's goal looked a bit too open when Ivar Alin came free, but Olov Stephansson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jörgen Granström hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After 43 played minutes Rätan IF got a freekick which was hit by Ian Alegren. Kristoffer Snäll sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Polly Magoo Juniors were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kåre Sjögren to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes Polly Magoo Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Vilgot Vassenius. Olov Stephansson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sten Alkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivar Alin got free with Olov Stephansson in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Sten Alkvist sped through Rätan IF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Olov Stephansson. Ivar Alin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Olov Stephansson made a huge save. If Ian Alegren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rätan IF's Kåre Sjögren in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Polly Magoo Juniors's goalie prevented a goal. Rätan IF's Olov Stephansson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Rätan IF from getting a goal against them. During the 79th minute of the match Sten Alkvist completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Sten Alkvist a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Rätan IF booed when Polly Magoo Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sten Alkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball.
