Evert Pettersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils-Åke Lindberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johannes Elg in the 6th minute of play forced Bora Bora's goalkeeper Jens Alebäck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 8 played minutes Frölundaboys got a freekick which was hit by Allan Lindström. Evert Pettersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils-Åke Lindberg in the 17th minute of play. Sture Bure hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Kent Askberg charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kent Askberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Frölundaboys! The referee gave Bora Bora a penalty, 20 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sven-Olof Gernberg, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Frölundaboys's Evert Pettersson. 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jan-Ove Axelsson during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Bora Bora getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Jan-Ove Axelsson hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Allan Lindström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frölundaboys's supporters rose to their feet, but Allan Lindström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jens Alebäck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Bora Bora's Sven-Olof Gernberg got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Evert Pettersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sigvard Paulin in the 37th minute of play. Evert Pettersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils-Åke Lindberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After 43 minutes, Bernt Lund mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bora Bora and the Frölundaboys players grew even worse after the yellow card. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nils-Åke Lindberg to strike the kick off in the second half. Timmy Grubb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Jens Alebäck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Dan Beckeman fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bora Bora's protests and gave Dan Beckeman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 55th minute, Dan Beckeman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erling Westerstrand in the 60th minute of play forced Bora Bora's goalkeeper Jens Alebäck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bora Bora's Jens Alebäck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filiph Kullander in the 62nd minute of play. Jens Alebäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erling Westerstrand, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 67th minute of the match Kent Askberg completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Kent Askberg a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 68 played minutes Frölundaboys got a freekick which was hit by Kent Askberg. 71 minutes into the game, Nils-Åke Lindberg lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Evert Pettersson. Benjamin Magnusson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Evert Pettersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evert Pettersson was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Nils-Åke Lindberg capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nils-Åke Lindberg really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Jens Alebäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erling Westerstrand, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evert Pettersson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nils-Åke Lindberg in the 86th minute. In the 89th minute Nils-Åke Lindberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evert Pettersson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Magnusson hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The supporters of Bora Bora booed when Frölundaboys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position.
