The Akranes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nikolas Mattíasson should have stopped the shot. Lord of the Wings's Nicol Tyre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdór Skaptason in the 13th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Lord of the Wings's Nikolas Mattíasson threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Phillip McIldowie, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 22 played minutes Akranes got a freekick which was hit by Salmann Játmundsson. Salmann Játmundsson made in the 26th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Lord of the Wings's Matthew McHugh. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Blair McGreusich during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Blair McGreusich hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute, Phillip McIldowie made a precise shot to the right of Nikolas Mattíasson. Akranes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Drew McMurchie got free with Nikolas Mattíasson in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ástgeir Ólafsson in the 40th minute of play forced Lord of the Wings's goalkeeper Nicol Tyre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute Blair McGreusich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nikolas Mattíasson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phillip McIldowie scored 5-0 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nikolas Mattíasson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nikolas Mattíasson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nicol Tyre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ævarr Agnarsson in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of Akranes booed when Lord of the Wings was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marc McLarty didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nikolas Mattíasson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Drew McMurchie in the 77th minute of the match. A collision led to Lord of the Wings getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Greig Cleland hit a great ball. Nikolas Mattíasson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Drew McMurchie, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The audience was convinced that Elinór Svanbergsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicol Tyre was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. 92 minutes into the game, Phillip McIldowie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Nikolas Mattíasson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Greig Cleland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lord of the Wings's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
