In the 7th minute Ferruccio Coccia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fortunato Pizziolo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the game, Ferruccio Cordone was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sorci Viola's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lunatics of Arianrhod the free kick. In the 10th minute, Ferruccio Cordone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ferruccio Coccia was the one to do the kick off. Ferruccio Cordone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Sarnelli having to interfere. Adriano Sciarretta hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Fortunato Pizziolo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ferruccio Coccia's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Sorci Viola's Fortunato Pizziolo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferruccio Coccia in the 69th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Sorci Viola's goal looked a bit too open when Ferruccio Coccia came free, but Fortunato Pizziolo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferruccio Coccia in the 76th minute of play forced Sorci Viola's goalkeeper Fortunato Pizziolo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the game, Ercole Caracciolo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. When the match clock showed 97 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Ferruccio Coccia sped through Sorci Viola's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fortunato Pizziolo. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lunatics of Arianrhod fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sorci Viola had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
