Carmine Latini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonçalo Borges in the 3rd minute of the match. The supporters of Alexandrie CF booed when Merceron United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugenio Coccia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute of the match Florentin Delsol sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carmine Latini skillfully saved the ball. Bart Lyon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Gelsomini in the 9th minute of play. Bart Lyon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anthony Ruzzi in the 13th minute of the match. Anthony Ruzzi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bart Lyon came out and tried to block the shot, but Anthony Ruzzi slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 13th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claude Francois in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carmine Latini saved Merceron United from getting behind. Alexandrie CF's Bart Lyon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Alexandrie CF from getting a goal against them. Dino Facchetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Bart Lyon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Merceron United's goal looked a bit too open when José Poizat came free, but Carmine Latini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carmine Latini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yann Delacour in the 32nd minute of the match. Bart Lyon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anthony Ruzzi in the 34th minute. Gonçalo Borges's late challenge caught a Merceron United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gonçalo Borges helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Alexandrie CF getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Gonçalo Borges hit a great ball. Anthony Ruzzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bart Lyon having to interfere. If Anthony Ruzzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredo Monaco during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some careless play in the Merceron United defense, José Poizat kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carmine Latini. The Merceron United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carmine Latini should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthony Ruzzi in the 48th minute of play forced Alexandrie CF's goalkeeper Bart Lyon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Alexandrie CF's Charlie Florin was substituted for Yann Delacour. The wind increased when Claude Francois made the kick off in the second half. Bart Lyon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anthony Ruzzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dario Gelsomini in the 58th minute of play forced Alexandrie CF's goalkeeper Bart Lyon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Merceron United getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Federico Del Giudice hit a great ball. Bart Lyon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dario Gelsomini went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 73rd minute, Damiano Perazzolo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bart Lyon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dario Gelsomini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th minute Anthony Ruzzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bart Lyon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Claude Francois dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Carmine Latini, 2-2. Carmine Latini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claude Francois in the 83rd minute of play. Dario Gelsomini scored 3-2 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bart Lyon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Alexander Longo fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merceron United's protests and gave Alexander Longo a yellow card for diving instead. Carmine Latini didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from José Poizat went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. In the 94th minute, Alexandrie CF's Florentin Delsol seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Florentin Delsol the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Alexandrie CF protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Florentin Delsol had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthony Ruzzi in the 99th minute of play forced Alexandrie CF's goalkeeper Bart Lyon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Merceron United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
