When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Notis Trontzos sped through Torre Dei Pinguini FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Daniele Mirto. Fausto Zollino in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eustratios Vertsotis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Panos Papathomas struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Daniele Mirto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olympiacos FC. Ferdinando Verdone's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eustratios Vertsotis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Ermanno Corelli kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Zollino in the 26th minute of play forced Olympiacos FC's goalkeeper Eustratios Vertsotis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 32 played minutes Olympiacos FC got a freekick which was hit by Notis Trontzos. Eustratios Vertsotis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florian Bellucci in the 33rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Olympiacos FC's Notis Trontzos got a free kick in the 38th minute. The supporters of Olympiacos FC booed when Torre Dei Pinguini FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 53rd minute Fausto Zollino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eustratios Vertsotis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Miltiadis Tsiranidis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Daniele Mirto. That made the score 0-3 in the 69 minute of play. With his leg Daniele Mirto managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Olympiacos FC's Notis Trontzos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
