Thomas Smeekes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paolo Alessandro in the 24th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Weed Excelsior's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Stahl came free, but Thomas Smeekes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joakim Fuchs might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thomas Smeekes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joakim Fuchs ran back to his position shaking his head. After 33 minutes, Paolo Alessandro made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Weed Excelsior's Thomas Smeekes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 36th minute Kurt Stahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Smeekes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Weed Excelsior defense, Joakim Fuchs kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thomas Smeekes. The Weed Excelsior fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thomas Smeekes should have stopped the shot. 42 minutes into the match, Weed Excelsior's goal looked a bit too open when Joakim Fuchs came free, but Thomas Smeekes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Weed Excelsior booed when B O B I S A was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Stahl didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcel Toolenaar was the one to do the kick off. Clinton Dalmedico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel Toolenaar in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute, B O B I S A's Joakim Fuchs ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Thomas Smeekes. Thomas Smeekes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. In the 59th minute of the match, Hugh Baumgartner got a very nice opportunity to score, but Thomas Smeekes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thomas Smeekes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paolo Alessandro in the 60th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Weed Excelsior's zone, Enea Gabriel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Smeekes came out of the goal and Enea Gabriel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Weed Excelsior. When the match had been going on for 93 minutes, B O B I S A's Paolo Alessandro got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Thomas Smeekes. If Hendrik van der Struijk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, B O B I S A's Thomas Smeekes threw himself towards the right post 99 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Paolo Alessandro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. B O B I S A's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
