The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Carlos Augusto Barral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LauerArmy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Florão da América the free kick. Mazinho Dionísio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Cordeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Florão da América's goal looked a bit too open when James Rodriguez came free, but Edmílson de Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to LauerArmy getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Hélder dos Santos hit a great ball. Leonardo Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute, Cláudio Alcântara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The LauerArmy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. José Augusto Vieira hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute of the match Christiano Fontes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edmílson de Lara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 36 played minutes Florão da América got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos de Lara. With 38 minutes on the clock, José Augusto Vieira commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The supporters of LauerArmy booed when Florão da América was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell James Rodriguez to make the kick off. Leonardo Cordeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. LauerArmy's Christiano Fontes shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 59th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Edmílson de Lara but with some difficulty. In the 60th minute James Rodriguez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmílson de Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as James Rodriguez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edmílson de Lara. That made the score 0-2 in the 60 minute of play. After 65 played minutes LauerArmy got a freekick which was hit by Aílton Campidelis. Hélder dos Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 93 minutes into the match, Florão da América's goalkeeper Edmílson de Lara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aílton Campidelis. LauerArmy played a much better game than Florão da América and deserved their victory. The Florão da América players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
