Alexandre Bueno hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Deivid Rosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Durvalino Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Enéas Moraes fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bastioes EC's protests and gave Enéas Moraes a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bastioes EC's Enéas Moraes got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 24th minute Diamantino Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Paulo Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Paulo Paraense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diamantino Santos's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Kléberson Messias's late challenge caught a Bastioes EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kléberson Messias helped the player get up and apologised. João Paulo Paraense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aírton Leite in the 39th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Roberto Secco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The wind increased when Diamantino Santos made the kick off in the second half. Bastioes EC's João Paulo Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aírton Leite in the 52nd minute of play. After having played for 56 minutes, Diamantino Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cactos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diamantino Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Diamantino Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but João Paulo Paraense made a huge save. A nice corner shot did that Diamantino Santos got away a dangerous shot. Despite this João Paulo Paraense quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Diamantino Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but João Paulo Paraense made a huge save. 72 minutes into the game, Diamantino Santos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of João Paulo Paraense. Diamantino Santos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Bastioes EC's João Paulo Paraense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Bastioes EC from getting a goal against them. Cactos's Aírton Leite got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Paulo Paraense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diamantino Santos's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Amílton Paulista struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. João Paulo Paraense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cactos. After recieving a nice pass, Cactos's Diamantino Santos tried to score from far away in the 91st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Diamantino Santos took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for João Paulo Paraense to make any attempt to save it. When the final whistle sounded Cactos left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Bastioes EC.
