Pedro Luiz Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Vianna having to interfere. Dida Barbosa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Paulo Diniz having to make a save. With a little luck, Gurdurão's Wilson Vianna got control of the ball when Zé Paulo Ortiz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zé Paulo Ortiz came free with the goalkeeper in the 11th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Wilson Vianna could save by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leopoldo Vidal during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gurdurão's Leopoldo Vidal got a free kick in the 12th minute. An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Zé Paulo Ortiz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Zé Paulo Ortiz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Wilson Vianna when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 16th minute, Pedro Luiz Reis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Luiz Reis got free with Wilson Vianna in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Narciso Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kauã Antunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gurdurão's Leopoldo Vidal got his second yellow card of the match in the 26th minute. The referee ordered Leopoldo Vidal off the ground. In the 27th match minute, Gurdurão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Vidal to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Gurdurão booed when LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Paulo Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dida Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After some careless play in the LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC defense, Dida Barbosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luiz Paulo Diniz. The LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luiz Paulo Diniz should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Gurdurão's zone, Kauã Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Vianna came out of the goal and Kauã Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Naldo Viana to make the kick off. 60 minutes into the match, Gurdurão's goal looked a bit too open when Clemente Silva came free, but Wilson Vianna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dida Barbosa got free with Luiz Paulo Diniz in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kauã Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's Edgar Duarte was substituted for Pedro Luiz Reis. When Kauã Antunes came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kauã Antunes couldn't finish the play. After 94 minutes of play, LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's Inácio Montenegro made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Vianna was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee ended the match the LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
