The supporters of Corumbaense F.C. booed when Grêmio Prudente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeca Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Corumbaense F.C.'s zone, José de Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Cordeiro came out of the goal and José de Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Corumbaense F.C. getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Humberto Loyola hit a great ball. Corumbaense F.C.'s Bruno Cordeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Corumbaense F.C. from getting a goal against them. Enio Barros hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Donato Prestes made a kick off. Grêmio Prudente's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Sidney Barbosa scored to the left of an out of position José Vítor Ramos, making the score, 0-1. Mauro Mattos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Cordeiro having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Corumbaense F.C.'s Donato Prestes got a free kick in the 64th minute. When Mauro Mattos came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Grêmio Prudente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Mattos couldn't finish the play. 71 minutes into the game, Hélder Tinoco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grêmio Prudente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Corumbaense F.C. the free kick. Hélder Tinoco hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. José de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Cordeiro having to interfere. Percy Lago charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Percy Lago the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bruno Cordeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Mattos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Corumbaense F.C.'s Sidney Barbosa got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Donato Prestes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th play minute Donato Prestes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised José Vítor Ramos. 0-2. If José de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Corumbaense F.C. players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
