Raúl Cavalcante was a little too slow when Mazinho Prestes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 1-1. Percival de Toledo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raúl Cavalcante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Régis Dante made a kick off.
