Spectators: 159 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) Independente FC's Zé Carlos de Azevedo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, Independente FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. Nestor Quintal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Giuseppe Castro went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Zé Carlos de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. José Vítor Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nestor Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Duplantier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund MZB booed when Independente FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivo Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Víktor Simão came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Borussia Dortmund MZB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Víktor Simão couldn't finish the play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Víktor Simão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nilmar Loyola hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Independente FC's zone, Válter Dionísio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nestor Quintal came out of the goal and Válter Dionísio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexandre Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Oswaldo Rossi charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oswaldo Rossi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 63 played minutes Borussia Dortmund MZB got a freekick which was hit by Oswaldo Rossi. Ciro Ribeiro hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Independente FC's Nestor Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giuseppe Castro in the 74th minute of play. 86 minutes into the game, Mário Duplantier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Borussia Dortmund MZB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independente FC the free kick. Mário Duplantier kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Giuseppe Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Borussia Dortmund MZB walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
