The referee ignored Pesqueira City's protests and gave Rômulo de Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Pesqueira City getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Rômulo de Queirós hit a great ball. After 12 played minutes, Atlético Capixaba's Silas Melo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Enéas Borges came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Atlético Capixaba reached it. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Telmo Andrade successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ronaldo Guimarães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Telmo Andrade made a huge save. Telmo Andrade came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Pesqueira City's Ronaldo Guimarães. But to his dismay, Ronaldo Guimarães quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 27 minutes into the game, when Wellington Leite put in a rough tackle. Wellington Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Silas Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Capixaba's supporters rose to their feet, but Silas Melo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enéas Borges breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 33rd minute, Rômulo de Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Bebeto Mendes put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Telmo Andrade. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bebeto Mendes in the 42nd minute of play forced Atlético Capixaba's goalkeeper Telmo Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dário Leme kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ronaldo Guimarães made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrique Alvarenga in the 51st minute of play forced Pesqueira City's goalkeeper Enéas Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henrique Alvarenga struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Enéas Borges didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Capixaba. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Maria Leão got free with Enéas Borges in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dino Mesquita hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Pesqueira City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Henrique Alvarenga scored to the left of an out of position Enéas Borges, making the score, 3-1. Aílton Branco kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Atlético Capixaba's Marcos Messias was substituted for Aílton Branco. Atlético Capixaba's Telmo Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Eduardo Santos in the 71st minute of play. Telmo Andrade stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Eduardo Santos's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Telmo Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Guimarães in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Bebeto Mendes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pesqueira City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. When Atlético Capixaba's Henrique Alvarenga in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Enéas Borges showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Enéas Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silas Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Telmo Andrade didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bebeto Mendes went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Atlético Capixaba booed when Pesqueira City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rômulo de Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pesqueira City's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
