The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Võ Gozali showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agnaldo Vargas in the 4th minute of the match. In the 26thth minute of the game Agnaldo Vargas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but JFSP's Võ Gozali was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. JFSP's Võ Gozali played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo Vargas in the 27th minute of play. The supporters of JFSP booed when Nova Iguaçu MZFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dudu Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pietro Sales helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to JFSP getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Pietro Sales hit a great ball. Lauro Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flaco López, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flaco López in the 60th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Lauro Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
