The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Grütly's Reynaldo Gimenez seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Reynaldo Gimenez the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Grütly protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Reynaldo Gimenez had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 43 minutes of play, Newpi Academy's Leopoldo Erlantz made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marco Abalos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Ceferino Balasi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enzo Abar in the 53rd minute of play. Marco Abalos made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Rolando Reynardo sent off a good shot on target. Grütly's Leonel Ramone managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Antonio Locaio in the 74 minute of the game. Grütly's Marco Abalos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Grütly from getting a goal against them. In the 79th match minute, Grütly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enzo Abar to maneuver through the defense. If Rolando Reynardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Abalos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo Erlantz in the 83rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cirilo Primo during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cirilo Primo hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 93 minutes into the match, Grütly's goalkeeper Marco Abalos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Erlantz. When the final whistle sounded Newpi Academy left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Grütly.
