Serafin Ralondo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filiberto Meder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Caballeritos del Baile booed when ATLETICO MENDOZA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amado Frichoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Justino Estevez hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. When Bruno Sabin fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caballeritos del Baile's protests and gave Bruno Sabin a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Caballeritos del Baile's Bruno Sabin got a free kick in the 22nd minute. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Caballeritos del Baile. The referee gave ATLETICO MENDOZA a penalty, 31 minutes into the game.
