The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Claudio Eudoxio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of ATLETICO MENDOZA booed when Habsburgo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogelio Cerilo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rafael Gombal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Higinio Frisco in the 9th minute of play. From close distance Claudio Eudoxio pressed in the 1-0 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 13 minutes into the game. The crowd rose to their feet as ATLETICO MENDOZA's Higinio Frisco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rafael Gombal. That made the score 2-0 after 17 minutes of play. If Higinio Frisco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Habsburgo's Rafael Gombal got control of the ball when Higinio Frisco tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Habsburgo defense, Claudio Eudoxio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafael Gombal. The Habsburgo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafael Gombal should have stopped the shot. 32 minutes into the match, Habsburgo's goalkeeper Rafael Gombal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudio Eudoxio. Basilio Ruisko charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Basilio Ruisko the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 35th match minute, Habsburgo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basilio Ruisko to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the match, Habsburgo's goal looked a bit too open when Amador Bermudez came free, but Rafael Gombal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Claudio Eudoxio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rafael Gombal was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Justo Thomas made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, ATLETICO MENDOZA's goal looked a bit too open when Justo Thomas came free, but Serafin Ralondo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amador Bermudez might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafael Gombal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amador Bermudez ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Eudoxio in the 61st minute of play forced Habsburgo's goalkeeper Rafael Gombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Javier Estavan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Serafin Ralondo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Eudoxio in the 68th minute of play forced Habsburgo's goalkeeper Rafael Gombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Serafin Aznar came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the ATLETICO MENDOZA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serafin Aznar couldn't finish the play. After 71 played minutes Habsburgo got a freekick which was hit by Eugenio Romelio. Leo Romo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Serafin Ralondo came out and tried to block the shot, but Leo Romo slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 77th minute. Rogelio Cerilo's late challenge caught a ATLETICO MENDOZA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rogelio Cerilo helped the player get up and apologised. Claudio Eudoxio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rafael Gombal having to make a save. In the 89th minute Claudio Eudoxio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Gombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Habsburgo's Mario Bartuelo got a free kick in the 91st minute. After recieving a nice pass, ATLETICO MENDOZA's Adan Martinez tried to score from far away in the 92nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Rafael Gombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Isadore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Habsburgo's Mario Bartuelo got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute of the match Adan Martinez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rafael Gombal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. ATLETICO MENDOZA walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
