Seating: 34, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Gregg Ferrell got the match started through his kick off. Kermit Regan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 4 minutes, George Friend mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Woodbury Heights and the Flagstaff players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 5 minutes, Kirk Miranda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flagstaff's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kirk Miranda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gregg Ferrell charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gregg Ferrell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gregg Ferrell kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Barry Pringle received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Simon Rainey came out and tried to block the shot, but Barry Pringle slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 13th minute. After 18 played minutes George Friend rounded Flagstaff's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. The supporters of Flagstaff booed when Woodbury Heights was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. A.J. Hurd didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kirk Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Woodbury Heights's goalkeeper Theodore Lunsford, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roosevelt Hollis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Theodore Lunsford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simon Rainey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregg Ferrell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gregg Ferrell got free with Simon Rainey in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Simon Rainey made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Nelson Shultz sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kermit Regan was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Woodbury Heights's goalkeeper Theodore Lunsford had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kirk Miranda. Flagstaff's Simon Rainey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregg Ferrell in the 57th minute of play. Roosevelt Hollis hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elvis Jacob during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd match minute, Flagstaff was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elvis Jacob to maneuver through the defense. After 64 minutes of play, Woodbury Heights's Gregg Ferrell made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Simon Rainey was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Woodbury Heights's Mel Finch got a free kick in the 74th minute. Theodore Lunsford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kermit Regan, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. A.J. Sanderson's late challenge caught a Woodbury Heights's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. A.J. Sanderson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th minute, A.J. Sanderson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Simon Rainey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barry Pringle, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Gregg Ferrell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Woodbury Heights had won after a very even match.
