Andrew Goode was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rey Ruffin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Rey Ruffin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Andrew Goode. The goal made the score 2-0. Adrian Stafford's late challenge caught a West Side Highway's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adrian Stafford helped the player get up and apologised. After 29 minutes of play, West Side Highway's Mohammed Wiley made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfred Russo was left in no man's land by his defense there! 32 minutes into the match, Somerset's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Ponce came free, but Alfred Russo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Mohammed Wiley had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfred Russo. Somerset's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mohammed Wiley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After 40 minutes of play, West Side Highway's Edmundo Ponce made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfred Russo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 46 played minutes, West Side Highway's Quintin Flint shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alfred Russo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in West Side Highway reached it. After the first half West Side Highway were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rey Ruffin was the one to do the kick off.
