After a defensive mix-up in Socavon FC's zone, Leopoldo Laurgain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Chapado came out of the goal and Leopoldo Laurgain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leopoldo Laurgain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fausto Fonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute of the match Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥ got a corner. Socavon FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sven-Arne Schweinsteiger ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Eneas Leal came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Socavon FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eneas Leal couldn't finish the play. Fausto Fonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Chapado having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Sven-Arne Schweinsteiger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute Fausto Fonso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Chapado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Chapado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Laurgain, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Baldomiro Osoitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥'s supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Socavon FC had won, even though Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥ had held more of the ball.
