In the 5th minute of the match Atlético Patoruzu got a corner. GuateFortín's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Merle Tomlinson ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Julian Carver almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but GuateFortín's Miguel Marin did a great save. 10 minutes into the game, Félix Moreno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GuateFortín's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Patoruzu the free kick. After a rather tough play, GuateFortín's Félix Moreno got a free kick in the 10th minute. Miguel Marin was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Julian Carver. In the 17th minute, Félix Moreno made a precise shot to the right of Waldo Hills. Atlético Patoruzu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Douglas Ayala sped through Atlético Patoruzu's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Waldo Hills. An unexpectedly hard shot by Félix Moreno in the 33rd minute of play forced Atlético Patoruzu's goalkeeper Waldo Hills to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonard Hinton's late challenge caught a GuateFortín's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Hinguanzo hit a great ball. 40 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goalkeeper Miguel Marin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dirk McMillian. In the 41st minute, Calvin Rodriguez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Atlético Patoruzu getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Merle Tomlinson hit a great ball. 0-3 came in the 44th minute when Alfredo Hinguanzo all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Waldo Hills. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Danilo Viscarra took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Waldo Hills to make any attempt to save it. Waldo Hills took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas Ayala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dirk McMillian got his second yellow card in the match during the 86th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Atlético Patoruzu getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Dirk McMillian hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as GuateFortín's Félix Moreno slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Waldo Hills. That made the score 0-5 after 90 minutes of play. Waldo Hills came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by GuateFortín's Patricio Alvarado. But to his dismay, Patricio Alvarado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. GuateFortín were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Atlético Patoruzu's much stronger midfield.
