Domeka Talavera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frutos Bouzon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frutos Bouzon did an outstanding performance 13 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 0-1 to the right of an irritated Domeka Talavera in the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Krøse in the 17th minute of play forced Tirant lo Blanch's goalkeeper Domeka Talavera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tony Krøse might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Domeka Talavera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tony Krøse ran back to his position shaking his head. Domeka Talavera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tony Krøse's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by García Gonzalvez in the 25th minute of play forced FC Tarragona 2006's goalkeeper Domingo Colsa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FC Tarragona 2006 getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Tony Krøse hit a great ball. If Tony Krøse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the game, Ivón Barroso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tirant lo Blanch's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tony Krøse was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Tony Krøse took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Domeka Talavera. Domeka Talavera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 42nd minute, Tony Krøse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Tony Krøse made the kick off in the second half. When Anxelu Casillas fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tirant lo Blanch's protests and gave Anxelu Casillas a yellow card for diving instead. After 53 played minutes Tirant lo Blanch got a freekick which was hit by Anxelu Casillas. Tony Krøses short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Domeka Talavera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to FC Tarragona 2006 getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Aranguiz Cacheres hit a great ball. Tony Krøse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domeka Talavera having to interfere. When Frutos Bouzon came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the FC Tarragona 2006 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frutos Bouzon couldn't finish the play. In the 68th minute of the match Víctor Hernandez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Domeka Talavera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Tirant lo Blanch's goalkeeper Domeka Talavera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tony Krøse. The supporters of FC Tarragona 2006 booed when Tirant lo Blanch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gai Alavedra didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tony Krøse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Tirant lo Blanch's Domeka Talavera got control of the ball when Tony Krøse tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 80th minute Maicon Alves suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Mundo Suárez's late challenge caught a FC Tarragona 2006's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mundo Suárez helped the player get up and apologised. After 81 played minutes Tirant lo Blanch got a freekick which was hit by Mundo Suárez. After 87th play minutes Tony Krøse shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Domeka Talavera and just under the crossbar into goal. Domeka Talavera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Krøse, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. FC Tarragona 2006's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
