With an extended leg and a bit of luck Feliciano Manrique prevented the ball from getting in the gole. David Armada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Feliciano Manrique having to interfere. Fernando Morientes took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Grant Moco. Grant Moco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When Alberto Nóbrega fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Tarragona 2006's protests and gave Alberto Nóbrega a yellow card for diving instead. If Vladimiro Figueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Morientes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Grant Moco made a huge save. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernando Morientes was the one to do the kick off. The FC Tarragona 2006 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Orihuela Club de Fútbol had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
