Spectators: 7229 (Terracing: 5400, Seating: 1684, VIP seats: 145) Hector Regis made the kick off and thus started the match. 5 minutes into the match, Interplaya FC's Denis Alonso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amancio Emeterio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Interplaya FC booed when Sunderland AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardino Evangelista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gualterio Landers short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Chicão Cerezo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 13 minutes, Hector Regis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Interplaya FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hector Regis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hector Regis struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Amancio Emeterio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Interplaya FC. Elias Rozarius's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amancio Emeterio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sunderland AFC's Melchor Perutxo got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 22nd minute Robustiano Colon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amancio Emeterio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sunderland AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aurelio Bras was slow to take the kick. During this time Interplaya FC's players had a chance to rest. Interplaya FC's Aurelio Bras was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Amancio Emeterio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a little luck, Interplaya FC's Chicão Cerezo got control of the ball when David Txordon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chicão Cerezo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernardino Evangelista in the 30th minute. Hector Regis might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amancio Emeterio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hector Regis ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hector Regis in the 36th minute of play forced Sunderland AFC's goalkeeper Amancio Emeterio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Hector Regis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Interplaya FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hector Regis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amancio Emeterio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 39th minute, Denis Alonso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Elias Rozarius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Txordon to make the kick off. Amancio Emeterio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Regis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Esteve Sagrario recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hector Regis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Amancio Emeterio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hector Regis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Amancio Emeterio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 58 minutes, Damian Haritz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sunderland AFC and the Interplaya FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hector Regis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Amancio Emeterio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Amancio Emeterio came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Interplaya FC's Hector Regis. But to his dismay, Hector Regis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 66th minute, David Txordon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sunderland AFC's Bernardino Evangelista got his second yellow card of the match in the 72nd minute. The referee ordered Bernardino Evangelista off the ground. In the 73rd match minute, Sunderland AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardino Evangelista to maneuver through the defense. If Denis Alonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hector Regis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Sunderland AFC's zone, Denis Alonso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amancio Emeterio came out of the goal and Denis Alonso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Domingo Flor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The long shot by Nicasio Oier in the 84th minute really tested Amancio Emeterio's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Hector Regis in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Amancio Emeterio, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Amancio Emeterio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Regis in the 88th minute of the match. Hector Regis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Amancio Emeterio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the final whistle sounded Interplaya FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sunderland AFC.
