After a defensive mix-up in Verna AFC's zone, Elpidio Gonchan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pascual Balesio came out of the goal and Elpidio Gonchan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pascual Balesio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Bela in the 78th minute of play. A hard shot 81 in the game by Mutlu Boztepe from a close distance when the talented Pascual Balesio managed to make a qualified save. Verna AFC's players were relieved. In the 86th minute Mutlu Boztepe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pascual Balesio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
