Anier Semeno didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valentin Miheev went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Galindo in the 10th minute of play forced Carranza's goalkeeper Marcial Manny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th match minute, Carranza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Olando to maneuver through the defense. After 17 played minutes CF Leones got a freekick which was hit by Faustino Osasun. Carranza's Valentin Miheev got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carranza's Marcial Manny proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Carranza from getting a goal against them. In the 25th minute Diego Galindo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Manny saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcial Manny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Apolo Rufio in the 26th minute of the match. Mariano Leocadio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anier Semeno having to make a save. Carranza's Valentin Miheev got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 32 minutes into the game, Carranza's Valentin Miheev nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anier Semeno made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Valentin Miheev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Anier Semeno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Americo Dolfos hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. 46 minutes into the match, Carranza's goalkeeper Marcial Manny had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Apolo Rufio.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Leocadio made a kick off. Mariano Leocadio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Anier Semeno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Valentin Miheev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in CF Leones's zone, Mariano Leocadio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anier Semeno came out of the goal and Mariano Leocadio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, CF Leones's Anier Semeno got control of the ball when Mariano Leocadio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mariano Leocadio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Anier Semeno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 71 played minutes Carranza got a freekick which was hit by Romeo Oihan. When Apolo Rufio came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the CF Leones fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Apolo Rufio couldn't finish the play. Anier Semeno made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Mariano Leocadio sent off a good shot on target. 80 minutes into the match, Mariano Leocadio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anier Semeno. CF Leones's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Leocadio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Mariano Leocadio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Anier Semeno made a huge save. With 94 minutes on the clock, Clemente Olando commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Carranza fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! Marcial Manny had in the 97thth minute some difficulties stopping Isidoro Bernebe's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 97 minutes into the match, Isidoro Bernebe notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Carranza's Marcial Manny. Marcial Manny was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Carranza supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Carranza would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
