Shawn Bentos kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. After having played for 7 minutes, Avilio Zepeda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sheerness United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Avilio Zepeda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th minute, Carmelo Arango made a precise shot to the right of Selvin Moreno. Pondersbridge's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 16 minutes into the game, Benjamín Mora was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pondersbridge's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sheerness United the free kick. In the 17th match minute, Pondersbridge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamín Mora to maneuver through the defense. When Sheerness United's Avilio Zepeda, in the 18th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Sheerness United. 20 minutes into the game, Sheerness United's Carmelo Arango nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Selvin Moreno made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 23rd minute Franklin Rosales shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Pimentel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Selvin Moreno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Avilio Zepeda in the 27th minute. Emerson Arellano hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franklin Rosales in the 45th minute of play forced Sheerness United's goalkeeper Hugo Pimentel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Guillermo Guerrero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Franklin Rosales made a kick off. Avilio Zepeda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 55 played minutes Pondersbridge got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Guerrero. In the 60th minute, one of Sheerness United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sheerness United. Cristian Alferez walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Carmelo Arango had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Avilio Zepeda might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Selvin Moreno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Avilio Zepeda ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 71st match minute, Pondersbridge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Alferez to maneuver through the defense. The Sheerness United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. 94 minutes into the game, Sheerness United's Avilio Zepeda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Selvin Moreno made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Sheerness United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
