An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Alferez in the 13th minute of play forced DJSC's goalkeeper Cristian Salamanca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind DJSC's goalkeeper Cristian Salamanca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Allan Canales kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of DJSC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Motagua:s goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Ismael Alferez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Motagua's supporters rose to their feet, but Ismael Alferez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristian Salamanca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Allan Canales charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Allan Canales the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 46 played minutes DJSC got a freekick which was hit by Allan Canales. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Ismael Alferez took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Cristian Salamanca to make any attempt to save it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Arnoldo Sanchez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antonio Ramirez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benji Fernandez's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Arnoldo Sanchez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Antonio Ramirez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Allan Canales came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the DJSC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Allan Canales couldn't finish the play. Benji Fernandez received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Antonio Ramirez came out and tried to block the shot, but Benji Fernandez slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 81st minute. Ismael Alferez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Cristian Salamanca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benji Fernandez struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Antonio Ramirez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DJSC. In the 88th minute, Alonso Rosales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. DJSC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Deris Aguirrez in the 91st minute. Antonio Ramirez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benji Fernandez in the 92nd minute of play. Motagua's Antonio Ramirez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benji Fernandez in the 92nd minute of play. If Allan Canales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Salamanca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvaro Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Motagua were victorious despite being under pressure from DJSC for much of the match.
