The referee ignored Reggae Boys's protests and gave Jhonnatan Batres a yellow card for diving instead. Jhonnatan Batres hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. If Max Del Carmen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabio Uranga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Primitivo Alfaro in the 23rd minute of play. Cristian Umaña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Uranga having to interfere. Eraldo Renderos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rony Barragan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar Gutierrez in the 31st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eraldo Renderos in the 32nd minute of play forced NACIONAL DE BARRANDILLAS's goalkeeper Rony Barragan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Primitivo Alfaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Uranga having to interfere. When Primitivo Braun came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the NACIONAL DE BARRANDILLAS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Primitivo Braun couldn't finish the play. In the 37thth minute of the game Primitivo Alfaro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Reggae Boys's Fabio Uranga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Reggae Boys's zone, Primitivo Alfaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Uranga came out of the goal and Primitivo Alfaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 40th minute Primitivo Alfaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Uranga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Max Del Carmen's late challenge caught a Reggae Boys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Max Del Carmen helped the player get up and apologised. After 43 played minutes NACIONAL DE BARRANDILLAS got a freekick which was hit by Max Del Carmen. A collision led to NACIONAL DE BARRANDILLAS getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Primitivo Braun hit a great ball. In the 46th minute of the match Primitivo Parada sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rony Barragan skillfully saved the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Baltazar Gutierrezs short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Rony Barragan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 67th match minute, Reggae Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustin Pedrozo to maneuver through the defense. Primitivo Alfaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Uranga having to interfere.
