After 19 minutes of play, Greenwich's Alvaro Barreto made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ulises Arango was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Alberto Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Greenwich's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Paredes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulises Arango breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edwin Pedrozo charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edwin Pedrozo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience held their breath when Pablo Flores in the 31st minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Ulises Arango's left hand side. When Greenwich's Alberto Paredes in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ponteland's goalie prevented a goal. Greenwich's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Victor Medrano 38 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Victor Medrano made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Gilberto Bonilla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ponteland's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Bonilla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Corrales breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Alvaro Barreto came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Greenwich fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alvaro Barreto couldn't finish the play. After having played for 57 minutes, Alberto Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Greenwich's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Paredes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Greenwich's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Medrano came free, but Adolfo Corrales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Victor Medrano made a precise shot to the right of Adolfo Corrales. Greenwich's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Ponteland's Ulises Arango played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Barreto in the 68th minute of play. Adolfo Corrales made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Medrano in the 70th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Greenwich's Alberto Paredes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ulises Arango. That made the score 2-2 after 76 minutes of play. Alberto Paredes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Ulises Arango made a huge save. 84 minutes into the match, Greenwich's Alvaro Barreto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ulises Arango narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Greenwich were furious when Pablo Flores was red carded, 87 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Greenwich fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 86th minute. Penalty! Alberto Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ulises Arango tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adolfo Corrales took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Medrano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adolfo Corrales showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Medrano, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Greenwich players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ponteland.
