Omar Medina who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Edwin Ancheta when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 10 minutes, Alonso Murgas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chorley FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alonso Murgas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Franklin Alfaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Januario Toledano in the 13th minute of play. Omar Medina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Edwin Ancheta made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alonso Murgas in the 26th minute of play forced El Quetzal F.C's goalkeeper Edwin Ancheta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to El Quetzal F.C getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Efrain Medrano hit a great ball. With a little luck, El Quetzal F.C's Edwin Ancheta got control of the ball when Omar Medina tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Omar Medina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chorley FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Omar Medina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edwin Ancheta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Chorley FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Alonso Murgas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Alberto Rico, 48 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alonso Murgas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Alonso Murgas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edwin Ancheta was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 57 minutes into the match, Chorley FC's goal looked a bit too open when Shawn Palma came free, but Franklin Alfaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
