Spectators: 7314 (Terracing: 5400, Seating: 1814, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. A collision led to Tingley getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Victor Umaña hit a great ball. In the 17th minute, Amilcar Barragan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tingley fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 21st minute of the match Efren Nunes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Waldir Bonilla showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Ovidio Zelaya's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Waldir Bonilla was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ovidio Zelaya in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldir Bonilla saved Tingley from getting behind. Waldir Bonilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernesto Ramirez in the 30th minute. Ovidio Zelaya in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Waldir Bonilla, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ovidio Zelaya's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Waldir Bonilla skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ovidio Zelaya in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldir Bonilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Waldir Bonilla came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa's Rolando Lara. But to his dismay, Rolando Lara quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Ovidio Zelaya managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa's supporters rose to their feet, but Ovidio Zelaya was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldir Bonilla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Waldir Bonilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolando Lara in the 44th minute of the match. In the 45th match minute, Tingley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Umaña to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa's Ovidio Zelaya slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Waldir Bonilla. That made the score 2-1 after 48 minutes of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilberto Menjivar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pablo Paz kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 55th minute of the match Arturo Pacheco sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Waldir Bonilla skillfully saved the ball. Ovidio Zelaya blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Waldir Bonilla having to make a save. Rony Gamero struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Waldir Bonilla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldir Bonilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 68thth minute of the game Ovidio Zelaya who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tingley's Waldir Bonilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ovidio Zelaya in the 73rd minute of play forced Tingley's goalkeeper Waldir Bonilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa made a substitution. Domen Grubelnik replaced Ovidio Zelaya. Roman Parajewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilberto Menjivar, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Waldir Bonilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domen Grubelnik in the 83rd minute of play. Waldir Bonilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lars Pilgren went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. There was no doubt that Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa were the better team. Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
