Seating: 1793, VIP seats: 0) Roy Guardia made the kick off and thus started the match. The supporters of Platanillo FC booed when Cobano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Israel Salas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roy Guardia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Coto having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roy Guardia in the 10th minute of play forced Cobano's goalkeeper Marco Coto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Platanillo FC's Minor Guillen got control of the ball when Rodolfo Sarmiento tried to sneak it across the goal line. Minor Guillen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexander Quesada, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Platanillo FC's goalkeeper Minor Guillen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodolfo Sarmiento. Israel Salas charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Israel Salas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Israel Salas hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After 26 played minutes Cobano got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Avila. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Quesada in the 29th minute of play forced Platanillo FC's goalkeeper Minor Guillen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Minor Guillen managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Cobano's Rodolfo Sarmiento fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roy Guardia in the 35th minute of play forced Cobano's goalkeeper Marco Coto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Nery Herrera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Platanillo FC's Salomon Morera couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 39th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Cobano. In the 40th minute Edgar Saborio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Coto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maikol Huertas hit a great freekick 49 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexander Quesada to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Cobano's Rodolfo Avila got a free kick in the 55th minute. Roy Guardia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 72 minutes into the match, Cobano's goalkeeper Marco Coto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgar Saborio. Alexander Quesada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Minor Guillen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodolfo Sarmiento might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Minor Guillen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rodolfo Sarmiento ran back to his position shaking his head. Alexander Quesada scored 1-0 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Minor Guillen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edgar Saborio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Coto having to interfere. Cobano's Rodolfo Sarmiento got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Minor Guillen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
