After 8 played minutes Coto Brus got a freekick which was hit by Rene Gallo. After some careless play in the Coto Brus defense, Salomon Duran kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pablo Colon. The Coto Brus fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pablo Colon should have stopped the shot. In the 15th minute Carlos Echeverria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Jara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salomon Duran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Pablo Colon made a huge save. In the 20th minute, Santiago Alfaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpected shot in the 21st minute by Salomon Duran got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Santiago Alfaro hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Coto Brus's Virgilio Castillo got a free kick in the 86th minute. Coto Brus's Pablo Colon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salomon Duran in the 88th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Coto Brus's goal looked a bit too open when Salomon Duran came free, but Pablo Colon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
