Spectators: 9199 (Terracing: 6900, Seating: 2116, VIP seats: 183) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Frank Rosabal started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Minor Pineda in the 3rd minute of play forced Limon FC's goalkeeper Reinaldo Gamboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reinaldo Gamboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Minor Pineda in the 4th minute of the match. Limon FC's Reinaldo Gamboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Limon FC from getting a goal against them. In the 10th minute, Mauricio Soto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Minor Pineda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guido Conejo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reinaldo Gamboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Gilberto Porras was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Limon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Limon FC the free kick. Gilberto Porras took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reinaldo Gamboa. Reinaldo Gamboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Leon Carvajal kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. If Frank Rosabal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Reinaldo Gamboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Minor Pineda in the 52nd minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Santiago Mesa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nicolas Chamberlain, 1-2. 62 minutes into the match, Limon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Conejo came free, but Reinaldo Gamboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Josue Rohrmoser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Reinaldo Gamboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Minor Pineda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reinaldo Gamboa was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. If Josue Rohrmoser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Limon getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Guido Conejo hit a great ball. In the 74th minute, Gilberto Porras left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Limon fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Reinaldo Gamboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Conejo in the 81st minute of play. In the 85th minute Josue Rohrmoser shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinaldo Gamboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the game, Limon's Gilberto Porras nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reinaldo Gamboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. In the 91st minute Minor Pineda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinaldo Gamboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Josue Rohrmoser recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Limon had played much better football throughout.
