An unexpectedly hard shot by Honorio Zalvide in the 3rd minute of play forced Thundercats's goalkeeper Domingos Barrena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Thundercats's goalkeeper Domingos Barrena, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Domingos Barrena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gavino Ayllon in the 7th minute of the match. Birger Engelborgh came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Thundercats's Cipriano Neiva. But to his dismay, Cipriano Neiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Domingos Barrena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Honorio Zalvide went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 18th minute, Honorio Zalvide ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Domingos Barrena was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Cipriano Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd match minute, Thundercats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sengrat Muriel to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Honorio Zalvide's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Domingos Barrena was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Domingos Barrena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Honorio Zalvide, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. SportsLyons's Birger Engelborgh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gorri Buscando in the 32nd minute of play. Thundercats's Gorri Buscando got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Birger Engelborgh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gorri Buscando in the 40th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, SportsLyons's goal looked a bit too open when Gorri Buscando came free, but Birger Engelborgh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gorri Buscando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Birger Engelborgh having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Cipriano Neiva made the kick off in the second half. Birger Engelborgh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cipriano Neiva went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Thundercats's Rea Hidalgo got a free kick in the 57th minute. SportsLyons's Dalmai Acosta shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 58th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Domingos Barrena but with some difficulty. In the last second Domingos Barrena throw himself and got hold of the ball when Gavino Ayllon in the 62ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 64th minute Bembe Tarrero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birger Engelborgh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Gorri Buscando's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Birger Engelborgh was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. If Cipriano Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was beautiful to see Thundercats's Bembe Tarrero in action when he in the 70th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Bastia Mestanza kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 74th minute Bembe Tarrero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birger Engelborgh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Birger Engelborgh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gorri Buscando in the 88th minute of the match. In the 89th match minute, SportsLyons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentine Pamo to maneuver through the defense. A very nice done corner allowed Gorri Buscando to score against Birger Engelborgh in SportsLyons's goal. 5-2 after 91 minutes. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cipriano Neiva in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Birger Engelborgh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. There was no doubt that Thundercats were the better team. Thundercats's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
