In the 26th minute of the match, Xaver Castreciones got a very nice opportunity to score, but Anxo Arenillas was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Apolo Baroja fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anxo Arenillas having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Viator Bretal made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xaven Beranga in the 64th minute of play forced Alianza Lima's goalkeeper Anxo Arenillas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 70 minutes, Viator Bretal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alianza Lima's supporters crossed their fingers, but Viator Bretal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Alianza Lima's Viator Bretal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gumaro Descarrega. That made the score 1-2 after 76 minutes of play. In the 90th match minute, Alianza Lima was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristobal Clemente to maneuver through the defense. After 91 played minutes, F.JEICYV.C's Gilabert Cadena shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anxo Arenillas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in F.JEICYV.C reached it. Gumaro Descarrega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viator Bretal in the 94th minute of play. Alianza Lima's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
