Montalvo's supporters rose to their feet, but Xicu Brufau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelino Caban breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Melendez FBC's zone, Berto Urtueta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelino Caban came out of the goal and Berto Urtueta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jago Sandianes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Rogerio Cortazar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Mateus Ventura managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rogerio Cortazar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jago Sandianes was extremely unlucky when he, in the 20th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Dimo Bien kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Berto Urtueta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. After 34 minutes of play, Montalvo's Xicu Brufau made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcelino Caban was left in no man's land by his defense there! Xicu Brufau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute Berto Urtueta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelino Caban saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jago Sandianes to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Melendez FBC's Marcelino Caban got control of the ball when Berto Urtueta tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 54th minute, one of Montalvo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Montalvo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dimo Bien got free with Marcelino Caban in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Berto Urtueta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogerio Cortazar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mateus Ventura went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Berto Urtueta got free with Marcelino Caban in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 71 minutes into the match, Melendez FBC's goalkeeper Marcelino Caban had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Berto Urtueta. 80 minutes into the match, Montalvo's Berto Urtueta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcelino Caban narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 81 minutes, Nevada Arce mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montalvo and the Melendez FBC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nevada Arce hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After 82 played minutes Melendez FBC got a freekick which was hit by Sancho Cardeiro. Marcelino Caban made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Berto Urtueta sent off a good shot on target.
