Spectators: 6683 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1683, VIP seats: 0) Felipe Galdamiz made the kick off and thus started the match. After having played for 13 minutes, Ambrossi Cumbres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Cuhimbe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ambrossi Cumbres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. CD Cuhimbe's Leonel Salamanca got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juan Rodero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. España Rois tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute Leonel Salamanca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Morán Carne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Morán Carne made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ambrossi Cumbres in the 40th minute. Jama Mascarañas charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jama Mascarañas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 48th minute, one of S.D. Quito:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for S.D. Quito. Rodríguez Martin walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

With a little luck, CD Cuhimbe's España Rois got control of the ball when Victorino Serantes tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Ambrossi Cumbres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Leonel Salamanca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan Rodero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Felipe Galdamiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the game, CD Cuhimbe's Ambrossi Cumbres nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Morán Carne made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After 90 minutes of play, CD Cuhimbe's Leonel Salamanca made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Morán Carne was left in no man's land by his defense there! Leonel Salamanca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Morán Carne having to interfere. S.D. Quito's Morán Carne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Salamanca in the 99th minute of play. CD Cuhimbe's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
