Spectators: 6681 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gabriel Arena made the kick off which started today's match. A collision led to Aries S.C. getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Fausto Codony hit a great ball. In the 3rd minute, Cruz Castaneda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Teofilo Rafecas was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gabriel Arena showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, CD Gualaqui's goal looked a bit too open when Clemente Giralte came free, but Perlaza Corias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gabriel Arena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Amadeo Ledea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Perlaza Corias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Leis in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes in the game, Cruz Castaneda fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Teofilo Rafecas having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Aries S.C.'s Amadeo Ledea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Perlaza Corias made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When Humberto Leis came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Aries S.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto Leis couldn't finish the play. Mauricio Roda hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Cruz Castaneda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Teofilo Rafecas made a huge save. In the 30th minute, Gabriel Arena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. CD Gualaqui's Perlaza Corias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Leis in the 34th minute of play. Clemente Giralte's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Perlaza Corias read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute Amadeo Ledea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perlaza Corias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Humberto Leis in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Perlaza Corias saved CD Gualaqui from getting behind. In the 45th minute of the match Cornelio Ascazua shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Perlaza Corias showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Humberto Leis in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Perlaza Corias saved CD Gualaqui from getting behind. 58 minutes into the game, Humberto Leis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Perlaza Corias. Humberto Leis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Gabriel Arena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teofilo Rafecas having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in CD Gualaqui fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! CD Gualaqui's Perlaza Corias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save CD Gualaqui from getting a goal against them. Clemente Giralte received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Perlaza Corias came out and tried to block the shot, but Clemente Giralte slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Arena in the 75th minute of play forced Aries S.C.'s goalkeeper Teofilo Rafecas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cruz Castaneda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teofilo Rafecas having to interfere. After 81 played minutes, Aries S.C.'s Cornelio Ascazua shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Perlaza Corias came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Aries S.C. reached it. 82 minutes into the match, Humberto Leis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Perlaza Corias, 1-5. 94 minutes into the match, Aries S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Arena came free, but Teofilo Rafecas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Perlaza Corias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Aalexoaiei in the 96th minute of the match. The Aries S.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Aries S.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
