The ball went over the crossbar instead. 8 minutes into the match, Selvayacu SC's Aristides Artaldo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valentin Guiral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 13 minutes into the match, Selvayacu SC's goalkeeper Rolando Cancel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonathan Gainzarain. In the 15th minute Jonathan Azcaraso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Guiral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Carvajal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. JF Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Selvayacu SC the free kick. The supporters of Selvayacu SC booed when JF Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldo Carvajal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aristides Artaldo struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Valentin Guiral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Selvayacu SC. In the 23rd minute, Aristides Artaldo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valentin Guiral was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aristides Artaldo in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valentin Guiral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lorenzo Babiano kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Selvayacu SC's Aristides Artaldo got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 43 minutes, Aristides Artaldo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Selvayacu SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aristides Artaldo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edgardo Dalmau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valentin Guiral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, JF Club's goal looked a bit too open when Aristides Artaldo came free, but Valentin Guiral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aristides Artaldo to strike the kick off in the second half. When Vilson Agustin came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the JF Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vilson Agustin couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Aristides Artaldo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Selvayacu SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Aristides Artaldo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valentin Guiral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, JF Club's Edson Mascire got a free kick in the 56th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Gonzalo Urdaspal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valentin Guiral. JF Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gonzalo Urdaspal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Aristides Artaldo didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 0-4 via right post in the game's 70th minute. Selvayacu SC's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Selvayacu SC's Gonzalo Urdaspal shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 74th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Valentin Guiral but with some difficulty. Selvayacu SC's Rolando Cancel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vilson Agustin in the 76th minute of play. In the 79th minute Paulino Gagriel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valentin Guiral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gonzalo Urdaspal got free with Valentin Guiral in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 81 minutes into the match, Paulino Gagriel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Valentin Guiral, 0-5. 87 minutes into the match, JF Club's goal looked a bit too open when Roland Sokol came free, but Valentin Guiral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Selvayacu SC's Gonzalo Urdaspal was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 90th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After a defensive mix-up in JF Club's zone, Aristides Artaldo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Guiral came out of the goal and Aristides Artaldo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roland Sokol got free with Valentin Guiral in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
