The penalty shot was made by Estrada Leis, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Green Lanterns United's Reasco Avendaño. 0-1. Green Lanterns United's Reasco Avendaño played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Tostado in the 9th minute of play. Cotogchoa SC's Ramon Michelena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Cotogchoa SC from getting a goal against them. Rodolfo Tostado hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the match, Green Lanterns United's goal looked a bit too open when Narciso Villaseca came free, but Reasco Avendaño reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mendoza Victoria kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Urtsua Requenes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramon Michelena having to interfere. In the 37th minute Rodolfo Tostado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reasco Avendaño saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Green Lanterns United's Reasco Avendaño played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urki Allende in the 45th minute of play. After some careless play in the Green Lanterns United defense, Rodolfo Tostado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reasco Avendaño. The Green Lanterns United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reasco Avendaño should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The wind increased when Rodolfo Tostado made the kick off in the second half. Green Lanterns United's Urtsua Requenes got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urtsua Requenes in the 58th minute of play forced Cotogchoa SC's goalkeeper Ramon Michelena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reasco Avendaño was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Urki Allende capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Urki Allende really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Reasco Avendaño showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Tostado in the 62nd minute of the match. Urtsua Requenes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Urtsua Requenes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramon Michelena having to interfere. 72 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Tostado recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Reasco Avendaño. Rodolfo Tostado showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Urki Allende could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Reasco Avendaño made a huge save. Reasco Avendaño took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Tostado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Urtsua Requenes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramon Michelena having to interfere. When Estrada Leis fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cotogchoa SC's protests and gave Estrada Leis a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Green Lanterns United booed when Cotogchoa SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Estrada Leis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 89 minutes into the game, Green Lanterns United's Urtsua Requenes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ramon Michelena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5.
