To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sven-Erik Karlsson's late challenge caught a USFQ FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sven-Erik Karlsson helped the player get up and apologised. After 85 played minutes Guayaquil City got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Erik Karlsson. In the 87th minute, Leo Cardenas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Costin Dragota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vellito Manzano, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Guayaquil City's Costin Dragota proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Guayaquil City from getting a goal against them. Costin Dragota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vellito Manzano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. USFQ FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
