Ubendu Carreiras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Xzavion Paradela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jurand Tarasek might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xzavion Paradela. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jurand Tarasek ran back to his position shaking his head. Xzavion Paradela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jurand Tarasek in the 7th minute of play. Jurand Tarasek might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xzavion Paradela. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jurand Tarasek ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 11th minute Jurand Tarasek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xzavion Paradela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente de Quito's goalkeeper Marcelo Cardiel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jurand Tarasek scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Xzavion Paradela, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Xzavion Paradela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jurand Tarasek in the 24th minute of play. Independiente de Quito's Jurand Tarasek got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute of the match, Vergaray Mollinedo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marcelo Cardiel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Vergaray Mollinedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35th minute, Luisito Caton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neicer Fontanes took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Xzavion Paradela. Xzavion Paradela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jurand Tarasek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Independiente de Quito fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Independiente de Quito's Jurand Tarasek looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Pancho Vial's late challenge caught a Independiente de Quito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pancho Vial helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, CD Balbina's Pancho Vial got a free kick in the 78th minute. Marcelo Cardiel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerson Esqueda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Independiente de Quito getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Frutos Ceja hit a great ball. Norberto Rojelio hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Justavino Gaztelumendi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcelo Cardiel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerson Esqueda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CD Balbina's Xzavion Paradela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justavino Gaztelumendi in the 95th minute of play. In the 98th minute, Justavino Gaztelumendi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independiente de Quito fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. When the match was over Independiente de Quito could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than CD Balbina throughout the match.
