Rodriguez Betoño took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnoldo Almuzara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sabaneta FC's goalkeeper Rodriguez Betoño, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frantzes Lazo to make the kick off. Feliciano Escuza charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. DFS's supporters rose to their feet, but Frantzes Lazo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodriguez Betoño breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 70th minute, Frantzes Lazo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rodriguez Betoño. The goal made the score 0-1. When Izel Darroja fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DFS's protests and gave Izel Darroja a yellow card for diving instead. 76 minutes into the game, Xalbador Domao was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sabaneta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DFS the free kick. The supporters of DFS booed when Sabaneta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xalbador Domao didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, Arnoldo Almuzara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. DFS's Arnoldo Almuzara got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Frantzes Lazo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute Frantzes Lazo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguez Betoño saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodriguez Betoño showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frantzes Lazo in the 85th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in DFS's zone, Benedicto Canelas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Medardo Aumada came out of the goal and Benedicto Canelas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Benedicto Canelas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sabaneta FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benedicto Canelas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Medardo Aumada breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 94th minute, DFS's Loiola Polledo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rodriguez Betoño. Rodriguez Betoño yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. DFS's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
