Spectators: 7251 (Terracing: 5647, Seating: 1504, VIP seats: 100) Eufemio Rocha made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 3rd minute Ramiro Rocandia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernaldo Salais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in monkyd's zone, Ramiro Rocandia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernaldo Salais came out of the goal and Ramiro Rocandia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ramiro Rocandia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Bernaldo Salais tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eufemio Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eufemio Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th match minute, monkyd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolando Cubillo to maneuver through the defense. monkyd's Bernaldo Salais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eufemio Rocha in the 20th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Vidal Placencia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Covadonga's Teobaldo Baraña got a free kick in the 30th minute. Emesto Torneira shot from long distance in the 32nd minute, but Emenon Gacel was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. With a little luck, Covadonga's Emenon Gacel got control of the ball when Freddy Macho tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Freddy Macho took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Emenon Gacel to make any attempt to save it. 45 minutes into the match, monkyd's goal looked a bit too open when Eufemio Rocha came free, but Bernaldo Salais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, Covadonga's goalkeeper Emenon Gacel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Freddy Macho.

Bernaldo Salais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eufemio Rocha in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Covadonga's Duarte Santiso got a free kick in the 55th minute. monkyd's Bernaldo Salais proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save monkyd from getting a goal against them. 61 minutes into the game, Baltasar Cerdeño was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. monkyd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Covadonga the free kick. After 61 played minutes monkyd got a freekick which was hit by Baltasar Cerdeño. With his leg Bernaldo Salais managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Covadonga's Ramiro Rocandia fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 64th minute of the match Covadonga got a corner. monkyd's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Blanco Sobre ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Covadonga's Blanco Sobre to fire away a dangerous shot which Bernaldo Salais despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Eufemio Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Ramiro Rocandia got free in front of the goal in the 70th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Bernaldo Salais was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 71stth minute of the game Eufemio Rocha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but monkyd's Bernaldo Salais was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. monkyd's Vidal Placencia got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ramiro Rocandia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernaldo Salais having to interfere. Bernaldo Salais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eufemio Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Vidal Placencia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Emenon Gacel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of monkyd booed when Covadonga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teobaldo Baraña didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute, Eufemio Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Freddy Macho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match was over Covadonga could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than monkyd throughout the match.
