Garikoitz Puertas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Hermansson having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Edgardo Cumbres fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Garikoitz Puertas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mats Hermansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgardo Cumbres in the 42nd minute of the match. Mats Hermansson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Garikoitz Puertas in the 43rd minute. Dantel Chandeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Poz Rioseco in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Club Deportivo Municipal were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

1-1 became the score in the 53rd minute when Garikoitz Puertas elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Tartalo Barrallo's late challenge caught a Club Deportivo Municipal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tartalo Barrallo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Club Deportivo Municipal booed when Arenal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tartalo Barrallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgardo Cumbres in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mats Hermansson saved Club Deportivo Municipal from getting behind. Garikoitz Puertas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mats Hermansson having to make a save. Gutierre Mambliga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Poz Rioseco came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Club Deportivo Municipal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Poz Rioseco couldn't finish the play. In the 91st match minute, Club Deportivo Municipal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Carbonell to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Municipal's Dominguez Sagaseta got a free kick in the 96th minute.
