Chucho Cañon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maureo Marti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chucho Cañon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bermudo Obina in the 5th minute of play. Chucho Cañon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bermudo Obina's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Rioja Ternero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erramun Gatica having to interfere. Chucho Cañon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bermudo Obina, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. A collision led to Carabobo FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Lleir Villayuste hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute of the match Benvide Tuset shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Chucho Cañon showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Gaston Inestrosas short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Erramun Gatica to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Edgardo Alcayde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erramun Gatica made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gaston Inestrosa in the 44th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Palaciero FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gaston Inestrosa came free, but Erramun Gatica reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Palaciero FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maureo Marti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Maureo Marti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rioja Ternero struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Erramun Gatica didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carabobo FC. In the 63rd minute, Michael Louzara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Bermudo Obina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palaciero FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bermudo Obina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chucho Cañon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Chucho Cañon successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gaston Inestrosa struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Erramun Gatica didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carabobo FC. Erramun Gatica made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Inestrosa in the 80th minute of play. After having played for 83 minutes, Rioja Ternero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carabobo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rioja Ternero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celino Artigue hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Erramun Gatica showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaston Inestrosa in the 87th minute of the match. A collision led to Carabobo FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Pabla Salablanca hit a great ball. Chucho Cañon made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Bermudo Obina sent off a good shot on target. In the 99th minute of the match Carabobo FC got a corner. Palaciero FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edgardo Alcayde ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Gaston Inestrosa heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely.
