Beat Uquillas took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Shepherd Gadea. Nacho Larquera blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Domingos Yzarra having to make a save. Universidad de Oriente's Domingos Yzarra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nacho Larquera in the 13th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maurilio Piquero in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Domingos Yzarra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 16 played minutes Chichiriviche Deportivo got a freekick which was hit by Feliciano Lucio. Chichiriviche Deportivo's Shepherd Gadea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Chichiriviche Deportivo from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute Nacho Larquera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingos Yzarra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 minutes, Valentin Oseguera mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Universidad de Oriente and the Chichiriviche Deportivo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Universidad de Oriente's Valentin Oseguera got a free kick in the 29th minute. When Ximeno Espindola fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Universidad de Oriente's protests and gave Ximeno Espindola a yellow card for diving instead. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Shepherd Gadea successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Chichiriviche Deportivo getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Ermano Echeverria hit a great ball. Beat Uquillas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Shepherd Gadea when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Erubiel Carcedo hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beat Uquillas made a kick off. Ximeno Espindola got his second yellow card in the match during the 61st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Universidad de Oriente's Ximeno Espindola got a free kick in the 62nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arturo Urizar during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Arturo Urizar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Domingos Yzarra made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Izotz Sarmiento sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th minute Beat Uquillas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shepherd Gadea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arturo Urizar hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. If Nacho Larquera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beat Uquillas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute, Gaxan Espinoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rumaldo Argos kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Ermano Echeverria struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Domingos Yzarra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chichiriviche Deportivo. Shepherd Gadea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beat Uquillas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Universidad de Oriente's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
